Dawson Phillips - Haas Basic Mill Operator Feedback

For the Haas Certification Basic Mill Operator Practical Test, I served as the Testing Administrator. Prior to the student's arrival, I loaded the program, installed the required workholding, and ran a demo part to ensure the machine setup and program were correct. At the start of the test, I introduced the student to the Haas CNC machine, provided them with the drawing and raw material, and outlined the expectations. The student independently loaded the material into the workholding and successfully ran the preloaded program with minimal assistance. Throughout the test, I supervised and offered limited guidance as per Haas standards. After machining, the student removed the finished part and answered dimensional questions regarding feature size and tolerances, demonstrating strong understanding and competency. Based on their ability to safely and accurately complete the tasks and knowledge checks, I determined the student successfully met the standards and passed the practical certification test.
