Although George could display some knowledge in the trade of a machinist, his lack is knowledge in the navigation of the controller, tooling, and blue print reading is what is holding him back. With more hands on training on a machine as well as finding opportunities to be immersed in the machinist trade, he will pass with flying colors.
Connor passed and is already a good machine operator. You can tell he feels more comfortable with loading a part and operating the machine.

I could tell that James had no experience running a machine but he follows instruction very well and was able to pass the hands on final. He safely started the program using Single Block and checking the Distance too go position at 5% rapid. He follows instructions great and applies feed back feed back quickly. He will make a great machine operator after getting practice on a machine so he feels more comfortable with loading a part.

He does seem a little over confident for the limited time he has run a machine. I had to have him slow down to make sure that he keeps his eyes on the spindle and on of his hands on the feed hold button when pressing cycle start.
